Today, we finally saw a slight pullback in QQQ, with the VIX spiking up to $20 — creating some solid opportunities heading into tomorrow. For this market to continue pushing higher, healthy pullbacks are essential to shake out weak hands and reset momentum.

QQQ and VIX - Key Levels

$QQQ ( ▼ 0.44% ) was flirting with new monthly highs but took a sharp end-of-day flush down to $513. If we continue to sell off tomorrow, I believe we’ll see strong buying interest around the $500 level. I’ll be watching closely and waiting for QQQ to approach that zone before jumping into LEAPS on one of my favorite stocks, $PLTR ( ▲ 0.3% ) .

The VIX spiking above 20 was long overdue, especially after a stretch of nonstop market gains. For the bullish trend to remain healthy, we need these shakeouts — weak hands need to be flushed, and shorts need to reload their positions, which I expect to see happening tomorrow.

Overall, I still believe QQQ is headed toward the $540 level within the next 3 to 6 weeks. While the 10-year Treasury yields did spike a bit today, I see that as deflationary for the broader economy. I anticipate the next CPI report will come in below expectations, giving the Fed more reason to cut rates sooner and more aggressively.
