Market Snapshot

$QQQ ( ▲ 0.9% ) pushed to 587 today, setting new highs. I do think we could climb into the 595–600 range next week, but as VIX trends lower, the odds of a 5–10% pullback rise significantly.

Right now, $VIX ( ▼ 0.13% ) is in the mid-14s. If it drops into the 13s, I’ll stay even more cautious, because that’s historically where pullbacks tend to appear. I’m sitting on 25% cash to take advantage of opportunities when they come.

Catalysts ahead: the Fed’s rate decision. Odds heavily favor a 25 basis point cut, which markets would welcome. But a surprise 50 basis point cut (about 5% odds) could spook investors short term by signaling the Fed is behind the curve.
