What a week. Markets took us on a wild ride with President Trump and Elon Musk trading blows on Twitter (X), keeping headlines buzzing. On the economic front, the payrolls report came in hotter than expected, more people working sounds great, but not for markets hoping for rate cuts. As a result, the timeline for cuts has now been pushed out to October. Despite the noise, we wrapped up another week of fresh monthly highs. So, the big question now: where does the market go from here?

QQQ and VIX - Key Levels

QQQ had a mixed finish today at $529, but overall, we pushed higher this week. The $540 level is coming into range faster than expected. Every dip is being bought, yet hedge funds still aren’t aggressively stepping in at these levels. I’m expecting a melt-up to $540 this week, with a potential breakout above on Wednesday following the Core CPI release. That could be the trigger for sellers to step in, leading to a pullback back toward the trendline we've been deviating from the $525 area.

With the VIX now sitting at a new low of 16.78, this is an ideal time to start trimming positions and respecting the $15–$20 VIX-based cash allocation range of 25–50%. Once QQQ hits $540, I plan to raise my cash position from its current 14% and continue scaling into next week.

LEAPS Play For Next Week

$HOOD ( ▼ 2.35% ) is shaping up for a potential LEAPS play next week that I wanted to bring to your attention. The stock sold off to $70 today after not being included in the S&P 500 as many anticipated. Interestingly, it briefly touched $80 in after-hours trading before the announcement, highlighting $80 as a realistic upside target.

Despite the selloff, nothing has fundamentally changed with the company. In fact, Robinhood’s Cortex AI trading assistant is set to launch later this year, which I believe will be a major value-add for Gold subscribers. With 3.2 million paid users currently, I expect that number to double once the rollout goes live.

If we see a dip into the $67–$69 range, it could present a strong opportunity to enter a LEAPS call option (400+ days out / 70 Delta) and position for a move back to $75.
